Absurd

I made these pages a while ago and wanted to share them with you. They are quite different from what I have been doing lately but I think they are nice in their own way. All I used was gesso and Dylusions Ink Sprays with a homemade polkadot stencil. I used a picture from a magazine that I 'dressed up' with little paper flowers made with a punch and doodled a bit with Sharpies. Lastly I stamped the sentiment with Tim Holtz grungy alphabet stamps. Hope you enjoy !

Happy

Hi, I felt I had to make something today... So here it is. I used Distress inks over Gesso to create the orange and yellow background. I used my trusty homemade polkadot stencil and a really old flowerstencil which I bought years ago when stencilling on walls was in fashion. I randomly stamped some numbers (Paperartsy) on the page and created a border with a small stamp from I set I don't remember the name of. I then stamped the Waving Spotted Monster from Stampotique several times and coloured him with watercolour pencils. Also stamped the balloons (from a birthday set from Technique Tuesday) and coloured them the same way. I then embossed all of this with clear embossing powder. I find it makes the colours brighter. Lastly I placed some Washi tape on the page and glued everything down. Hope you enjoy !

Cake

This afternoon I made another double page in my small journal. I started with Gesso and acrylic paint as usual and used 2 Dylusions stencils to create a background. Then I stamped some flowershaped circles with a cookie cutter and some Archival ink. The white circles were made with a top from a tube and some gesso. Batboy was stamped on white paper, coloured with Watercolour pencils and I also embossed him with clear embossing powder. The cupcake came from an old magazine. A bit of washi tape,  the text (made with the computer) and some doodling finished it off. Hope you enjoy; leave a comment if you do, even if you don't.

No idea...

Had some more fun Art journaling this afternoon. I can't imagine how I ever had time to go to work ! ;o)
This time I used  my Dylusions Inksprays again and instead of having gesso underneath I put a layer of it over the inks to tone them done a bit. I used a flower stencil from TCW with white Versafine Ink and doodled around the flowers with a white gelpen. Also used various stamps and some Washi tape. Smile was stamped on old bookpaper and for the letters I used rub ons. The flower shaped darkpink circles were made with a cookie cutter. I would love it if you left a comment !

Agree with me..

Something different today, ie no Stampotique stamps. Bit of a challenge for me because I love them so much. Anyway, as always first gesso and acrylic paint, stencils and stamps for the background and a postcard that I bought. I thought these words (stamped on old bookpages) were perfect to go with the picture.

Alice

For the Stampotique challenge
Anything but a card
I made these journal pages. As usual first gesso then Acrylic paint. I used 3 TCW stencils; one made the purple flowers and another the white ones. I used the third one for the little bricks. I also used a Dylusions letter stencil. I made the clockface the same way as the background for my card : time to party. The rest of the clock is from a stampset I can't remember the name of.  I then stamped the big circles with an empty toiletroll. The text was made with the computer (quote from Alice in Wonderland). Alice and the White rabbit are Stampotique and they were stamped on white card stock and couloured with Distress Inks which a used as watercoulours. The bottle is from a stampset from Crafty Individuals and was also stamped on white cardstock and painted with Distress Ink.
I really enjoyed making these pages, but then I always do ! :o)

Fabulous Mela

For these pages I glued some old bookpaper on the pages and painted it with gesso to make it a bit more subtle. I then coloured the pages with Archival Sepia ink and stamped the old wallpaper. I also used the number stencil from Dylusions with white versafine ink. I then coloured some paper with blue Distress inks and stamped the flowers on it. I cut them out and glued them on the page. I stamped Mela and the words on paper which also had the old wallpaper stamp on it so you can just see the pattern. She was placed on some washitape. And because she is simply fabulous, she's wearing a crown. Lastly I stamped some circles with a cap from a tube.

Angel

Today I made these journal pages. As always I used gesso and acrylic paint for the base. I used a few different stencils (homemade polka dots, Dylusions numbers, flowerstencil from TCW) I also used 'Heads' from Stampotique as a background stamp. I stamped the sentiment on a homemade tag. The little figure ís 'Angelboy' from Stampotique. I finished the page with some washi tape and some Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges.

Time to party

I made this card this afternoon for this week's Stampotique Challenge 'Faux Metal'.
I used silver cardstock and embossed it with the Tim Holtz Clock embossing folder. I then made it look like metal with inks. I stamped Oliver, coloured him and placed him on the card. The sentiment was stamped with letterstamps and because there is a party Oliver decided to wear a party hat.

Scream

Another page I made today; this one is smaller as it is made in a Moleskin sketch book. I normally use the Dyan Reavely journal. The page was made with gesso and instead of acrylic paint I used Distress Ink in different blues for the background. Some stencils and stamps as well to create some interest. The figures are from Stampotique and are called The Tweedles. Added some of my favourite Distress Ink colour Vintage Photo around the edges and doodled with a white gel pen.

I pretend to be normal....

I bought this postcard last week and it made me smile. Also when I saw it I straight away thought about this quote.
As always I painted the pages with gesso and acrylic paint. Orange an white today. Used a TCW flower stencil with white Versafine and orange Distress Ink and the Dylusions letter stencil with black Distress Ink. The circles were made with the top of a tube which I used as a stamp. Also used some rub ons and a number stamp from Paperartsy.  The quote was made with a computer and lastly I doodled a bit with black and white pens and distressed the edges.

Pink Wedding

I had to make a card for a wedding and started of this afternoon with a certain idea in my head. Of course now the card is finished it doesn't look one bit like what I had in mind.
The background is made with acrylic paint and a stencil from TCW with distress ink. I used my new Stampotique stamps: Oliver and Mela. I did add the flowers and the top hat; it is a wedding after all.
They were stamped on old bookpages that I made a bit more subtle with gesso. I used some washi tape as a base for them to stand on and lastly added the greeting.

Marylin

I made these pages a while ago. This spread is still one of my favourites. I used a photo of Marylin Monroe and one of the phrases that she has supposedly said. I used acrylic paints, some stencils and stamps. Also some rub-ons and a bit of lace ribbon.

Hall of fame

Today I finally had the chance to do a bit of Art journaling after spending a week in the UK. The holiday was very enjoyable but I did miss my paints and inks. Anyway, after painting the background with acrylic paint I stamped several background stamps. A vintage wallpaper stamp from Stampendous and a numberstamp from Paperartsy.  I then aged the edges of the pages with Distress Inks Vintage photo and Walnut stain. I used a Dylysions number stencil and the TCW stencil Chicken Wire reversed. I can't remember where the chandelier came from because I used to throw all the packaging away. I think it might be Marianne design. The figures and the backgrounds in the pictures are all Stampotique stamped on old bookpages. The letters are from Tim Holtz and they were also stamped on bookpages. Lastly I filled some of the chickenwire stencil with a white pen.
Hope you like it. Leave a comment if you do or even if you don't......

I prefer Art

I made this a little while ago at a workshop and I thought it would be perfect for this week's Stampotique Challenge : Transparant. It is a mixed Media canvas and Twinkie was stamped on a bit of transparent plastic which I made into a tag. He was also stamped and coloured on paper and attached behind the plastic tag with glue dots. The background was made with acrylic paints and stencils, inks and white and black pens.
